The Elgin

Notting Hill

Established around 1856, this Victorian pub has a pawsitively gorgeous interior which seemed to impress the two-legged members of my pack. It features large etched mirrors, huge windows, painted glass, high ceilings, coloured tiles, a fireplace, dark carved wood, and two bar rooms separated by an incredible glass screen with Victorian embellishments and jewel-like ornamentation. The enormous bar is original and extends through two adjoining rooms. The pub’s interior is so outstanding it’s listed in the Campaign for Real Ale’s National Inventory of Historic Pub Interiors.

While this mutt was able to strutt his stuff inside this impressive pub, the part that got my tail wagging was their furbulous beer garden (or as I like to bark, Bear garden). In my opinion, it gets two paws up for being the pawfect place to lounge around outside: wood tables, flowers with scents to keep my nose busy, lots and lots of sun, and it even had green grass covering the cement! Whelp, it was fake, but still, so much softer on my old joints and paws!

And my humans must have really loved the Ploughman’s lunch they ordered, cause they even shared a bite of it with me (which they do far too little, if you ask me)!!
